PRODUCT SPECIALIST - Milford, CT

The Product Specialist serves as a product knowledge expert, as well as sales support for a designated specialty product set, including, but not limited to, stainless steel, aluminum, heat treated / abrasion resistant plate products (A514, AR 200, AR400, AR500, 130/160,000 minimum yield and all other grades in this plate classification). Responsible for costing, pricing, and providing quotes to sales reps for all nonstandard items. Responsible for the technical sales and education of a defined specialty product or related set of products to the engineering and/ or sales departments of our targeted customer base. Handles direct phone solicitation of these products with additional responsibility for matching customer end use, product application, grade / specification required to create a Customer Cost Advantage, (CCA) in the product manufacturing. Responsible for and works with Product Managers to manage the specialty product inventory. May also assist the Leadership team and National Sales Managers to coordinate the global supply base to maximize profitability of major contracts, as well as develop and prospect product leads for Olympic’s sales staff. Other functions include but are not limited to logistics management, inventory management, purchasing, etc.
• 3+ years related work experience with designated specialty product(s) required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and Microsoft office application knowledge required.
• Strong presentation and customer service aptitude required and strong business acumen.
• Bachelor of Science degree required, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree preferred
