Cleveland Division has an outstanding opportunity for a career-oriented individual interested in overseeing all operations of our Maintenance Department.
Responsible for all aspects of building maintenance, repairs, and improvements. Researches and hires contractors as needed to help complete tasks that may arise. Delegates maintenance tasks to maintenance staff, warehouse staff, or physically completes the work independently. Ensures maintenance tasks are performed in a proactive, safe and timely manner. Works closely with Purchasing and Operations Manager to organize and maintain preventative maintenance requirements, scheduling and material. Reviews workload and recommends overtime or reduction in hours if necessary. Participates in troubleshooting and maintaining production and plant assets. Actively participates as required to plan, organize, and execute tasks and projects. Notifies Management of any problems that might affect production schedules. Trains staff on processes, procedures, and technical tasks. Offers resources, coaching and conflict management to maintenance staff as well.
Skills/Competencies/Experience
- 10+ years experience in a steel service center or related manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and welding tools
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical systems (including, but not limited to programmable logic controllers, solid state motor drives, overhead traveling cranes and hydraulic circuits)
- Working knowledge of Cut to Length process and Laser Cutting equipment
- Knowledge of operations efficiency and division equipment a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with an aptitude for MIS systems and technologies
- Precise math and use of precision instrument skills
- Proven training or experience operating specific equipment and motor vehicles
- Exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking skills required, 5S experience a plus
- Proven teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
- Experience with MP2 Systems
