Olympic Steel’s Cleveland facility has an outstanding job opportunity for a Maintenance Technician.

The Maintenance Technician would be a member of our operations team, whose primary goal would be to help the operations department satisfy customer requirements of quality, quantity, and delivery, in a safe manner while maximizing productivity. This position requires an on-going examination of designated areas for continuous improvement. This technician supports the activities of general maintenance, and participates in troubleshooting and maintaining production and plant assets. The maintenance technician would be required to physically perform all the job tasks required for all aspects of building and equipment, maintenance, repair or improvements. They would work with other maintenance staff to ensure that maintenance tasks are performed in a safe and timely manner.

Qualified candidates should have a minimum of:

• A high school diploma or GED.
• A college or technical degree in industrial maintenance is preferred.
• Any machine, safety, or other related manufacturing certifications is a plus.
• 2 years of steel service center or related manufacturing experience, and proven training or experience operating specific equipment and motor vehicles is required.
• Must have a strong knowledge and ability to use hand tools and welding tools, as well as troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Knowledge of operations efficiency and division equipment, as well as the use of basic math skills and use of precision instruments is a must.
• Organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, and proven ability to work in teams and independently required.
