The Purchasing Specialist/Buyer is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support the sales forecast, at lowest total cost, while meeting or exceeding required inventory turns. This position places and expedites purchase orders and schedules materials and production processes to ensure on-time delivery, as well as serving as a company contact for subcontractors/vendors. The Purchasing Specialist/Buyer typically works independently to approve quotes on routine jobs, but may rely on the assistance of other more seniors purchasing staff or division management for approval on more complex quotes. This position is also responsible for producing and maintaining local reports for management.

Qualified candidates must have 3 or more years in a related purchasing function or a bachelor's degree in related area. Qualified candidates must have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, as well as proven administrative abilities. Blue print certification/training and familiarity with ISO requirements is preferred. This position requires strong mathematical analytical, organizing, planning, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills. Qualified candidates must be proficient in Lotus Notes, Word, and Excel. Olympic production control systems knowledge preferred.
