The Detroit Division has an outstanding opportunity for a career-oriented individual interested in Accounting.
The Accounting Associate will be responsible for a variety of general accounting processing duties including, but not limited to, the following:
- Stamping / highlighting incoming requests;
- Prepare and verify amounts and codes for various accounting entries, data input or other forms; encodes and obtains necessary approvals for processing;
- Verify payables / receivables, makes necessary corrections;
- Sort documents and posts debits / credits to proper accounts; balances and reconciles department / customer records; make necessary corrections
- Verify P.O. numbers, receivable numbers and tag numbers for invoices and print invoices;
- Review computer reports to identify and trace sources of error and makes necessary corrections; perform research to locate accounting or computer input errors;
- Performs various quality processing procedures and verifications, make corrections as needed, or refer to the appropriate party for correction;
- Contact various department personnel to resolve discrepancies or problems, answer inquiries regarding work being performed;
- Work with divisional / regional credit managers to keep customer accounts up to date;
- Enter and apply credit memos, write-offs and bad debts as requested.
Qualified candidates must have 2 years commensurate business experience or possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Other qualifications include high energy and drive, strong business and data analysis skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, outstanding oral and written communication skills, strong administrative support and computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
