The Detroit Division has an outstanding opportunity for a candidate interested in the Sales Manager position.

The Sales Manager manages and directs an outside sales force to achieve sales and profit goals. Sets sales budgets for Outside Sales Representatives in accordance with company-wide initiatives and directives. Evaluates and implements appropriate sales techniques to increase the Region’s sales volume. May recommend products or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Acts as an advisor to sales team regarding general sales operations. Manages an individual customer base of high profile and/or large customers and is accountable for individual as well as team sales goals. May accompany individual sales professional on client calls to better develop customer relationships and sales opportunities. May offer insight and sales guidance to the inside sales staff and inside sales manager to increase the overall efficiency of the sales function.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Business Administration or related field required, MBA preferred.
• 10+ years sales and marketing experience in a carbon steel environment.
• Prior management experience, directly leading sales professionals preferred.
• 5+ years business development experience with strong customer service skills required.
• Knowledge of customer service standards, products and procedures.
• Proficiency in Lotus Notes, MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Excel applications and production control computer systems.
