The Detroit has an outstanding opportunity for a career-oriented individual with strong sales skills and a working knowledge of stainless steel flat-rolled products.
Manages the overall sales and marketing effort for Olympic Steel within an assigned territory. Utilizes frequent, direct face-to-face contact and a consultative sales approach to ensure customer satisfaction. Identifies selling opportunities and assertively acts upon the opportunities that offer maximum potential and/ or profit. Develops new accounts and maintains strong working relationships with established, loyal customers. In addition, is responsible for developing annual forecasts and implementing plans and strategies to achieve revenue and volume targets. Partners with the Inside Sales Representatives to ensure high-quality service, including on time delivery according to customer specifications.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree and minimum of 3+ year’s sales/customer service experience in the stainless steel flat-rolled products
- Ability to develop new account relationships and expand business with existing customer base
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Willingness to travel, as position requires, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to negotiate effectively and educate customers about products and services as well as the ability to formulate sales quotes and proposals
