Olympic Steel, national steel service center, has an immediate opportunity for a skilled sales professional to manage the overall sales and marketing effort for an assigned territory within the Automotive Region (Michigan, Indiana, north & southwestern Ohio).

The Minneapolis Coil division has an outstanding opportunity for a career-oriented individual interested in accounting.

The Accounting Associate Sr. performs a variety of general accounting processing duties from data entry to verifying and balancing of information. The Accounting Associate Sr. is responsible for the timely processing of accounts receivable checks as they are received and investigating discrepancies. The Accounting Associate Sr. is also responsible for a possibility of several other tasks within the accounting department including but not limited to assisting with the daily billing process, processing accounts payable invoices, running the weekly check run, and creating and maintaining spreadsheets. This position must maintain a high level of accuracy and ensures compliance with required processing deadlines. The Accounting Associate Sr. may work with more senior accounting staff, divisional staff, vendors or customers to resolve general issues. This position is also responsible for maintaining efficient and accurate files for reference and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of a two-year degree in accounting and 2 years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred
  • Strong proven accounting knowledge
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
  • Must have the ability to collect and consolidate data from multiple locations and systems, as well as the ability to learn the systems and how to extract and summarize data using multiple programs
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven teamwork skills and the ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required
