The North Carolina Facility has an outstanding opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer.
Responsible for planning and designing manufacturing processes in specific Olympic Steel facilities. Will be involved in the day-to-day technical side of various machine operations. Develops programs to keep production on schedule and meet customer requirements. Analyzes layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization to maximize efficiency of the plant. Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.
Qualifications:- Candidates must have 3-5 years experience in an engineering position; steel industry and product knowledge; familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and practices, AutoCAD/solid works software
- Experience in materials control (flow of material and parts in and out of the plant), production control (efficient production processes) and quality control
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2000 quality management systems
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills in order to solve problems
This position also requires strong organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills; high level of creativity. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Proficient computers skills in MS Word, Access and Outlook.
