The Olympic Steel Chambersburg Division has an outstanding opportunity for a career-oriented individual interested in strategic role in the operations team as a Industrial Engineering Supervisor.

The Industrial Engineering Supervisor is responsible the operations staff, including machine operators (i.e. Burn, CNC, etc.), welder and material handlers to ensure all work is coordinated and minimum down time occurs. Directs the efforts of multiple foremen in an industrial fabrication environment. Reviews daily personnel needs and recommends overtime or a reduction in hours as necessary. Prioritizes efforts to support customer demands, works closely with employee(s) responsible for production coordination to determine machine scheduling based on delivery dates, materials availability, processing requirements and logical methods of distribution. Reviews daily schedule with area foremen to ensure accuracy and commitment. Notifies Operations Manager when problems arise that may prevent on-time delivery. Works with Inventory Control to manage aged inventory and effective space utilization. Supports all other processes both on and between shifts with a positive attitude toward teamwork. Oversees production personnel and acts in a supervisory and resource capacity.

Minimum Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology or related field required
• Welding, Machining, and/or related manufacturing certifications strongly preferred
• 10 plus years experience in the manufacturing environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with an aptitude for MIS systems and technologies
• Strong knowledge of welding and/or machining operations and equipment
• Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels in the company
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
• Previous experience and proven ability to write area work instructions
• Strong sense of accountability to achieve business results and established objectives
• Detail-oriented with strong commitment to quality and accuracy
