| Olympic Steel, a national steel service center, has immediate openings for Outside Sales Representatives in the Southeast, including NC, SC, GA, AL, TN and MS. This position manages the overall sales and marketing effort for Olympic Steel within an assigned territory. The incumbent utilizes frequent, direct face-to-face contact and a consultative sales approach to insure customer satisfaction and confidence in Olympic Steel's overall capabilities. In addition, this position develops annual forecasts and implements plans and strategies to achieve revenue and volume targets. The incumbent partners with the Inside Sales Representative to assure high-quality service, including on time delivery according to customer specifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have previous outside sales experience in the steel / steel service center industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing is strongly preferred.
- Must possess the ability to develop new account relationships and expand business with existing customer base.
- Steel product knowledge, general business acumen, and demonstrated customer service aptitude is also required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, willingness to travel, as position requires, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must also have the ability to negotiate effectively and educate customers about products and services as well as the ability to formulate sales quotes and proposals.
