Southern Division- Quality Assurance Manager

The Southern Division has an outstanding opportunity for a career-oriented individual interested in Quality Assurance.

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the implementation of both the quality assurance program and environmental compliance programs internally and interfacing with suppliers and customers on all quality issues. This position will provide assistance and support to the Director of Corporate Quality to develop and implement policies and procedures; maintain a high level of interaction with Sales, Purchasing and Operations departments; and, requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee quality and process improvement activities, such as corrective actions, ISO 9000/ ISO 14001/TS compliance programs, quality inspection, and certification. This position acts as the management representative for both environmental and quality programs. In addition, this position will develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), manage/conduct internal audits as necessary of the quality/environmental function, maintain the supplier rating system, coordinate the claim process, and act as a training resource to other departments for quality-related issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have 5 years experience with 3 years applicable quality management experience with carbon steel, fabrications, or commensurate Olympic experience.
  • Must be familiar with ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 procedures, basic metallurgy, safety programs and inventory management.
  • Experience in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, and assisting with the development of new initiatives a plus.
  • Associates degree required. BA in Engineering or Industrial Management preferred.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and planning skills; strong interpersonal and communication skills; continuous improvement / 6 sigma techniques.
  • Must have ability to work effectively in a wide range of constituencies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
