The Olympic Steel Trading Division, located in Fernandina Beach , Florida , has an outstanding opportunity for a Steel Sourcing Associate.

The Steel Sourcing Associate is a career-oriented individual with strong tele-communication skills, working knowledge of flat-rolled steel products and structurals including angles, channels, beams, tubing, pipe, rebar, etc… and the ability to multi-task in a small office environment, and the drive to start/enhance their career and our growing business.

This position is designed to respond to customer inquiries by contacting steel service centers and trading companies domestic and worldwide to locate requested material when it is not available through other Olympic Steel facilities to satisfy customer demands. Position will document spot buys and prepare purchase orders and quotations under direct supervision. Completes necessary paperwork related to the sales, purchasing, and shipping processes. Position also partners closely with Outside Sales Representatives to establish strong, long-term relationships with customers and maintains existing accounts of an assigned territory primarily utilizing phone, fax & other electronic communications. Customer service duties include rapid response to all inquiries, executing on-time delivery, and informing customers of delivery set back and/or change in order status. Position may also manage the order entry process, trouble-shoot problems, and assist in rectifying complaints and claims.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2-3 years sales or customer service experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required
• Excellent time management skills
• Highly flexible, well organized with strong customer service skills
• Must have good oral and written communication skills

Position will report to Clay Treska, VP New Business. Relocation will be considered with salary commensurate with experience.
