Atkins Resigns from Olympic Steel Board of Directors
CLEVELAND, Ohio – (December 13, 2000) Michael D. Siegal, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Olympic Steel, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZEUS), announced the resignation of Betsy S. Atkins as a director of the company. Ms. Atkins, a founder and board member of Ascend Communications that merged with Lucent Technologies this year, is leaving the board because of her increased role in Lucent Technologies and is limiting her activities to the technology sector. Ms. Atkins joined the Olympic Steel board in November 1998.
