Olympic Steel Names General Manager of the Philadelphia Division
Cleveland, Ohio --- (October 27, 1999) David A. Wolfort, Chief Operating Officer of Olympic Steel, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZEUS) announced today that John W. Brieck has joined the company as General Manager of the Philadelphia Division. Brieck brings to his new position over 23 years of experience in the Steel industry.
Brieck most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer of High Strength Steel, Inc., Houston, Texas. He also served as President and Chief Operating Officer for Delaware Valley Steel, a Division of SR Metals located in Havertown, Pennsylvania.

Brieck received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Florida Bible College, Hollywood, Florida. He also has been affiliated with the Steel Service Center Institute-Philadelphia Chapter for numerous years.
Brieck will directly report to Jerome R. Gea, Vice President of the Eastern Region. Gea recently assumed responsibility for the Winder, Georgia facility in addition to the Divisions he currently supports. Ron Trone, General Manager of the Winder Division will report directly to Gea along with the General Managers in Milford, Connecticut, Philadelphia and Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
