Olympic Steel Announces Promotion
Cleveland, Ohio – (February 6, 2002) Michael D. Siegal, Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of Olympic Steel, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZEUS), announced that effective February 1, 2002,
Maureen A. Mason has been promoted to Vice President – Human Resources. Ms. Mason joined
the Company as Director of Human Resources in January 1999 with more than 25 years of
experience as a Human Resources professional in the information industry.
“Maureen has made significant contributions to strengthening the focus on our most
important asset – our people,” stated Mr. Siegal. “It’s been our benefit to have her on our team and
we’re pleased to recognize her efforts.”
Prior to joining Olympic, Ms. Mason was employed with American Telephone and
Telegraph (AT&T) for over 25 years. Throughout her career she enjoyed a variety of corporate and
regional HR assignments including Director of the AT&T School of Business and Director of
Management Employment. Most recently, Ms. Mason was the Director of Human Resources for
the Wholesale Markets Division of AT&T located in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
Ms. Mason received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology / Psychology from the
College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio.
