ASTM A514 A quenched & tempered alloy steel that provides advantages compared to regular carbon steels. 100,000 psi yield strength through 2-1/2" in thickness, 90,000 psi yield strength through 6" in thickness. These strength levels provide about 3 times that of structural carbon steel, weldability and good toughness at low atmospheric temperatures. This material is designed for a wide variety of structural uses such as construction equipment, mining equipment, hauling equipment, lifting equipment, and any other applications where the strength can be utilized to reduce weight. Olympic stocks A514 in grades B, E, F, H, Q, & S. T-1™ A low carbon quenched & tempered constructional alloy steel available in thicknesses thru 6 inches for structural use. Through heat treatment it attains an excellent combination of high yield strength, weldability and good toughness, even at low temperatures. For general construction uses where its great strength permits reduction in gross weight because smaller cross-sections can be specified...fabricated bridge, tower and building members; components such as frames, bases, supports, and base or body plates for earthmoving or transport equipment; booms, dipper sticks, and bucket parts for power shovels or cranes; pressure vessels.
