Olympic Steel Names Vice President of Automotive
Cleveland, Ohio --- (June 2, 2000) David A. Wolfort, Chief Operating Officer of Olympic Steel, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZEUS) announced the promotion of Joseph J. Susnak to Vice President of Automotive. Susnak brings over 19 years of experience in the steel and automotive industry to this position.
“Over the past five years, Susnak has played a pivotal role in establishing Olympic Steel’s reputation as a key supplier to the automotive industry,” stated David A. Wolfort. “Going forward, he will focus on increasing our market share by leveraging all of our assets associated with this important industry.”
In addition to leading Olympic’s Lafayette Steel Subsidiary located in Detroit, Michigan, Susnak will continue to serve as Board Member of Olympic Laser Processing (OLP) located in Van Buren Township, Michigan, as well as provide administrative oversight to that operation. He will also be responsible for managing Olympic’s interests in Trumark Steel & Processing, LLC (TS&P), a joint venture with Trumark, Inc. located in Temperance, Michigan.
Susnak has been with Olympic Steel for nearly four years as General Manager of the Lafayette Steel Subsidiary and before that he served as Sales Manager. Prior to his years at Olympic, Susnak worked for Kenwal Steel Corporation located in Dearborn, Michigan for 11 years and he worked for the U.S. Steel Group in the Detroit, Michigan sales office for four years.
Susnak received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York in 1981.
