Summer Intern Project

Quality Intern – Olympic Steel, Bettendorf, IA

“This summer, I designed and helped build a fixture for our vertical machining centers that holds multiple parts securely during machining. The goal was to reduce setup time and allow operators to run more parts at once without sacrificing quality. After testing and adjustments, the fixture ended up reducing setup time by 75% and quadrupled part capacity. I also worked closely with different departments and improved my AutoCAD and communication skills throughout the process.”
